A few mascots will be online for a little random meetup today at 11:15am Penguin Standard Time! We'll update this blog post with the server a few minutes before the meetup. Thanks to Spike Hike for arranging this little random surprise!

In other news... I'll be logging on later today for Field Friday, too! I'll be logging onto the server Fjord later today and will update this post with the time for that, too. :)

Now we're moving onto information about The Fair 2014. Now in terms of information, Club Penguin haven't provided much, but let's take a look anyway...

Firstly, let's take a look at some information posted by Polo Field on the Club Penguin Blog...

It's been great hearing how excited everyone is about the Fair starting February 20. We've still got a sneak peek coming up, but here are a few things you can expect at this year's party:

1. Fair Games - We're bringing back all your favorite games, like Puffle Paddle and Balloon Pop!
2. Prizes - We've got all new prizes to be won. Ice cream hat anyone?
3. Daily Spin - Everyday, everyone will get a chance to spin the wheel for coins, prizes, and more!
4. Rides - This Fair is bigger and better than before. The team has worked on some all new rides and we can't wait to show you.
5. Rookie - That's right! Rookie will be visiting for this year's Fair!

This marks the sixth language to join Club Penguin. With over 7M kids online in Russia, we hope to see lots of Russian Penguins waddling around the island soon.

To our new Russian friends, "добро пожаловать" (welcome)! What makes Club Penguin special is the diverse community of kids like you from around the world who visit the island every day and fill it with their joy and imaginations. Here, the coolest thing you can be is yourself, and we can't wait to see the special things you will bring to our community.

I also want to say "привет" to our new Russian blogger Snego Lex. Snego will keep our Russian Penguins up to date on everything happening on the island and will also share more about Russia and its culture with the rest of our Penguins around the globe.

Club Penguin Blog: VIDEO: More news about the NEXT Big Update - CPNext

For the last year we have been working on something HUGE! We have been building a WHOLE NEW technology to take Club Penguin into the future. Right now we're calling it CPNext. CPNext will allow us to take the Penguin world to new platforms and devices – connecting our community here on clubpenguin.com to mobile devices on iOS and Android, smart TVs, and who knows what else may come?!

CPNext will look and feel just like Club Penguin today, with a few improvements along the way. We want it to feel as close as possible to the CP community you love! You've already seen the first version of the CPNext technology on "My Penguin" for iPad... mobile igloos are built on it already. We've worked hard to make sure that the CPNext igloos are fully connected with igloos on desktop, so the experience across both is totally seamless.

With CPNext, we will finally be launching the Jump to Friend feature! To make things simpler and faster, you can just jump to where your friend is right when you log in. Much simpler and easier than in current CP! We know this has been a long requested feature – and it's finally coming!




We know that there is some concern about always having full rooms. Don't worry! We've built a lot of smarts into the system to make sure you stay with your friends when you go from room to room. And we will be watching and listening and can turn up or down then number of Penguins in a room based on your feedback. This is your world and we will work with you to find the right balance!

We will be taking our "next" step with CPNext in December with the launch of the Town on iPad. We will then start launching new rooms into the app every few weeks! Over the next few months you are going to see the CP world come to life on mobile. And for those of you with iPhones, iPod Touch, or Android devices – we are working on these NOW and plan to bring the Club Penguin app to you, too!

This is only a tiny bit of what we have planned – wait 'til you see the future for Puffles and Card-Jitsu... ;)

Club Penguin Team Members: Spike Hike

The Introduction of Spike Hike
In October 2012, Spike Hike made his first post on the Club Penguin Blog, stating that it'll be stepping into Lane's shoes (Billybob) and taking over as the role of General Manager in Club Penguin  - which you can see by clicking right here. 

Hey Penguins!

Spike Hike here. My real name is Chris Heatherly, and as you may have heard last week, I'm stepping into Lane's big shoes. You probably don't know me, but I've been working and playing on Club Penguin for a long time!

I first met the Club Penguin Team in 2007 when I worked for Disney Toys. When I first came to Penguin, I fell in love with what the team was doing. Together we worked on the first Penguin toy line. Billybob and I got to launch the toys in the biggest penguin party ever in New York City! We had Club Penguin projected onto the Jumbotron so that kids from around the world could join the party.

As a dad, I've been playing Club Penguin with my three kids for years. My twins even had a Club Penguin birthday party and I dressed up as Herbert. Herbert had stolen the puffles and the kids had to throw "snowballs" at him and get him to drop the sack of puffles. The kids tackled me to the ground and pelted me with snowballs!

Lane and I became really good friends and talked a lot about his vision for Club Penguin. When he asked me to join Club Penguin it was a dream come true! For the last year and a half, I've been able to work on parties, penguin shorts and music videos. As a long time player and as a dad, Club Penguin is very special to me.

As Billybob said in his farewell post, one thing about Club Penguin will never change – it has always been about you guys and always will be.

I think that it's awesome that there'll be a musical surprise coming for Club Penguin's 8th Anniversary this Thursday. I wonder who will be the singer of the musical surprise, I think it'll be a new Club Penguin character like Aunt Arctic or Gary singing this song. I can't wait to hear it!

I think that it's awesome that Spike Hike is allowing the CP Radio premiere the new CP Song called "Party In My Iggy". I can't wait to here this song as it's been a while since Club Penguin have released a song. Once Club Penguin officially release it, I'll post about it right here!

Club Penguin Blog: Igloos Coming to My Penguin on iPad!

Hey Penguins!

Last week we revealed the epic news that My Penguin 1.2 is coming to iPad, with all-new 3D penguin avatars! Of course, penguins need a place to hang out... and what better place to hang out than your iggy? That's right, igloos are coming to the next version of My Penguin!!

Here's how it works: when you log into My Penguin on iPad, you'll see your igloo as it appears on clubpenguin.com. Re-decorating your igloo in My Penguin is super-fast, too -- thanks to an all-new touch interface that takes full advantage of the iPad! When you save your iggy design, it will appear on clubpenguin.com as well. Pretty cool, eh?

Just like on clubpenguin.com, you can invite your friends to check out your igloo or visit theirs. My Penguin has a brand new interface that lets you see a preview of igloos for easy browsing. It will make it so much faster to find igloo parties!

For those interested in our technology, My Penguin uses entirely new tech that will be the future foundation of Club Penguin. Servers will work a little differently. Instead of logging into a server, we will take you directly to the igloo you want to go to. If the iggy gets full, we will spin up another version of that igloo so that more people can join. This will be really handy for the most popular iggys. Now if we only had a jump feature... :-)

Thanks Spike Hike for that great post! Wow! There are many sneak peeks above and they all look amazing. I like the map feature as it will make it easier to play the mini games and go to penguin's igloos - epic! I also like how they've made it easier for penguins to find igloo parties! This is really making me excited for the 1.2 version of the My Penguin App! :)

Club Penguin Blog: VIDEO: New My Penguin Avatar Sneak Peek!

Hey Penguins!

Last Friday we debuted our sixth episode of #WaddleOn and many penguins told us that they noticed something…. different.

You guessed it – full 3D avatars are coming to My Penguin 1.2 for iPad!!

We've completely rebuilt the avatar from scratch to take full advantage of 3D. All your items from Club Penguin are available with this new 3D avatar. When you change your avatar on clubpenguin.com, your outfit will show in My Penguin, too! And if you change your outfit in My Penguin, you will be able to see it on the web. They are completely synched up so it's easy to go back and forth. We've also re-done all our animations in 3D!

Below is a video that gives you peek at how cool these animations look in 3D. The team worked on these for over a year and did an amazing job! You are going to have a ton of fun playing with all your special dance items and seeing the cool, new animations. Check it out:



In other news... this new avatar also gives us a LOT of opportunity down the road! I don't want to spoil it now, but let's just say that this will let us take animations, special dance items, and interaction with the world to an entirely new level!!

Wow! Awesome post Spike Hike! I love the Club Penguin Blog post above as it's filled with so much information! The sneak peek video above is also quite epic as well because there are so many penguins performing a variety of special dances. I'm surprised at how many special dances that they've made with the 3D Penguins. I wonder when the My Penguin 1.2 version will be out and what other features will be in it.

Wow! I can't wait for Rockhopper to return to the Club Penguin Island, as he hasn't yet made an appearance on the island since December 2012. However, I wonder which party Rockhopper will make an appearance at? - The Fair? The Holiday Party? I also hear that Rockhopper has got a new look as well. I just can't wait to hear Rockhopper stories about his adventures!

Wow! To be honest, the Takeover parties were getting very repetitive. So, I just can't wait to see orignal CP parties like the Halloween Party and the Holiday Party. I also can't wait to see if Club Penguin improves the parties from previous years. Could this also mean the return of Rockhopper?
